Hello there website fans! Year 3/4 recently went to the Roman Baths in Bath as part of our project on Romans.
We are gathering all sorts of information to help us create our book on Roman Lifestyles which will be published in January!
Here’s some surprising things we found out at the Roman Baths:
- The Romans went to baths a lot! Cleanliness was very important to them.
- Dressing up is fun! We dressed up as rich and poor Romans. Some of us wore tunics, others wore actual togas!
- We saw evidence of underfloor heating. We didn’t realise that the Romans invented this.
- Tasting the waters was supposed to make you feel better. It made most of us feel worse. It tasted eggy and metallic. YUCK!
Our audio tour was a bit too quick as we ran out of time. Perhaps in the holidays. our parents could take us there again for a longer, detailed visit??
